I'd blame it on the moon, the trip itself, the change of schedule, ect.

So Sorry Tina,

That is rough. It may be that he is more verbal and so able to voice his desires more. If you think about it, that is a bit of normal development but our kids put the autism twist on it. Kids when they are babies are pretty compliant about going along with certain things. Then they start to become more independent and want to voice thier oppinions and begin the big "NO" phase. THus the terrible 2's and 3's.

The nice thing is that this too shall pass. You just will likely need for a while to prepare a little more for vacations in an autism type way. We have had many very successful vacations by taking autism into account and planning around it. Including driving for a month cross country and visiting many many awesome sites and museums.

Structure, visual schedules, lots of sensory breaks and activities, taking it easy and pacing so as not to overstimulate and overwhelm and my new favorite friend, my time timer. I think these things would help you a ton.
