Who knows about myo-inositol????
Sat, 12-10-2005 - 5:31am

This is going to sound weird, but bare with me and I will explain. I know that there are supplements out there for myo-inositol. I also know it is found in fruits and veggies and other foods.

MY question is this. Is there anything out there which DECREASES the amount of myo-inositol? Something that would cause a deficiency if used too much? I know caffeine will cause myo-inositol deficiency but that isn't real helpful.

There is a new study out about people with Down syndrome having more myo-inositol than other people, and that it may contribue to the cognitive delays. I'd love to do an experiment with it if I could. At this point my daughter isn't showing cognitive delays, only speech. But I'd love to see what happened if I was able to reduce the amount of myo-inositol in her system. Maybe she is technically delayed and we just don't know it, and with less myo-inositol she would be a genius! (She's already a genius, but you get the picture.:)

Thanks in advance.
