the big kids in my household are more crazy about their costumes for Halloween this year than the younger ones. Warren (16) is Robin Hood, I made the cloak, hat and tunic he made the weaponry (rolling eyes).

Amelia (14 tomorrow, Halloween is her bday) is going as a bumble bee-- she made her own costume but I had to insist upon a long sleeve black T under the leotard and black tights w/ sofee shorts to cover a few things!

Weston wanted to be Luke Skywalker for the 4th straight year, but when he put on the costume and it was 6" too short in the legs and the tunic hardy came beyond the top of the pants he even said he thought it was too short. So, he was a dark wizard-- black pants, black shirt, black cape and black hat. He wanted to be Harry Potter, but the costume wasn't perfect enough to look like Harry and to be that character it must be perfect!

Martha is Laura Ingalls -- we have the pioneer dress, pinafore and sunbonnet I made when Amelia had to go to prairie school in the 4th grade. Fits Martha perfectly, and Martha has brown hair and blue eyes like Laura-- I've been reading her those stories before bed so they're fresh in her mind.

Owen will be an astronaut-- we bought the costume last year when Target was selling them out 75% off after halloween, he's been wearing the costume everyother day all year.

Hope you all have a safe and fun night!

(Amelia and Martha have dentist appointments on Nov1- LOL!)

Andrew, my 9 yo Aspie, is going to be Frodo Baggins from Lord of the Rings. I refused to pay $40 for a costume online. Instead I went to the thrift store and bought brown velvet pants and a vest and altered them. Then I made a cloak out of a brown tablecloth. He already had the sword and "the one ring" on a chain. He has worn the costume every day since I finished it and will most likely continue to wear it for months to come. We did end up buying elf ears, a wig and "hair" for his feet, which ended up costing more than I wanted to spend. Oh well.

Jacob (6) is going as a Ninja - store bought. Abbey (3) is a ballerina princess. And Sarah (20 m) is going to be Tigger if I can get her to keep the costume on.

NO ONE is allowed to tell Mike about this Gaara thing. It sounds just up his obsession ally.

Mike is a "nithling" which is a creature from his current favorite book series/obsession.

Cait is the Cat in the Hat (I thought of you Amy)

Emily is a victorian type ghost or The Corpse Bride in Goth black, lol.

Dave is a vampire.

Here are some picks.
