find the right words that cut straight to the bone? I've been asking Victor for a whole week to put his clean clothes away. He's been procrastinating because he doesn't like to do it. For the first few days, I asked him please. After that I said do it now. Yesterday I told him that if he didn't do it by tonight, he would be grounded from electronics, outside, friends over, etc for one week if he didn't do it. He was still balking at me. I didn't want to punish him because his friend is having a sort of birthday party this weekend. His friend has ASD as well and the family is taking Victor with them to go see a movie. I thought it was a great thing and it's just the sort of social gathering he needs. I send his sister into his room to help him hang up these clothes because I thought maybe he was overwhelmed by the amount of clothes that had accumulated ( two months of dirty laundry). He hit her in the head with hangers because she asked him to hang up the clothes and she put them on hangers for him. After that, I saw red and I yelled at him to get it done and reminded him of the punishment ( granted while yelling). I went up at 20 min past bedtime because again, trying to NOT punish him and he was done. Now I sat there and told him that he would be getting up on his own in the mornings and there was no reason with me coming into his room that he couldn't get up and get ready right away. He knows exactly what I expect of him, when I expect it and how I want it done. I've conceeded certain things to him like hanging up all his clothes in the closet instead of putting half in dresser drawers.

I sure wish I had the answer Alexis, but can only give a warm big hug (((hugs)))
