I take Mike to visit the non-public school today. I am going to try to get a time to see the public school program too (Caiti's school).

I have been calling trying to get them to consider putting Mike in the regular SDC class at Cait's school. Then he could be with her, the other AS kids but with more support. Then perhaps eventually he could move into the AS program if they can provide for him. I haven't heard back if it is an option. I have heard the SDC teacher there is pretty good.

If the non-public wasn't only 25 kids I would be more tempted.

That and when talking to Mike about the schools he said about the public school "Wow, 1500 kids! That would be 1 thousand 500 chances to make friends" Poor kid doesn't have any.

Silly me, I just posted about the visit in a different thread of mine, lol. Can you tell I am a bit stressed today?

The visit went great. Mike loves the school and wants to go there.

Afterwards I took him to lunch and we were listing the pro's and con's of different schools and you should see his list. I think this is the school for him.

While we were visiting he even asked for the bathroom and walked across the school on his own to go. That is incredible. Never in a new place will he do that. When we first arrived he wouldn't shake the principals hand or make eye contact at all. That switched within 15 minutes.

At the very end I went into the principals office to ask some more questions. Mike asked me to borrow my phone so he could .....take a picture of himself at the school!

I'm glad it went so good. Did you like it as much as Mike?

Yup, I think I do. The nice thing is I really like the middle school teacher. This is a good thing since who ever is Mike's teacher next year is going to have some friggen big shoes to fill.
