Hi all,

I have a client at work who has a developmental coming up and is looking for some info on autism.

I'm wondering what the best reads are these days as I haven't looked at autism books in quite awhile. I would like to offer her suggestions that are not overwhelming. Something that gives basic views of autism without getting into alternative therapies or diets too deeply. All suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks, Valerie

Hi Val, Nice to see you!

I still like Chantal Sicile-Kira's "Autism Spectrum Disorders" book as a good first reference. Lots of great information but not overwhelming for new parents and lots of positives too.

If she has computer access you could also lead her to this board. Lots of wonderful people here that she can talk with, ask questions and so forth...

I'd recommend "The Universe and Everything" by Ken Hall.
