good job Dee,

People often ask me why I don't move back to Ireland and the answer is simple: "I have a child with Autism" they just nod and that's the end of the discussion.

Dee,
I think that's wonderful and such a great opportunity for you to share your experience of what it's like to raise a child on the spectrum without family around to help you out. It makes me so sad when I see how little is known about Autism in Ireland and what few supports are in place for parents. A couple of months back I had to email Paula to try and find a contact in Ireland for a family friend who's child had recently been diagnosed. My family know pretty much zero about Autism or aspergers and I'm afraid a lot of Jakes behavior is seen by my family as my fault. I can't wait to see your article when it's done. Thanks!
Teresa
