We are trying to get Cait to take the bus in the mornings as well this year so I can get to work ontime. Due to getting on the bus issues in the past I have driven her in the mornings and she takes the bus home. Unfortunately the bus has been late the first 2 days of school and Cait has been late both those days. She HATES to be late, it totally screws her whole day.
Well this am she wakes up mid meltdown because she doesn't want to be late again because she has to bring her instrument in, etc. This girl loves to be like 30-45 minutes early just to adjust herself to the day.
So for today i am considering driving her but I am concerned we will get into the habit of making mom drive me again or melting down. I cannot drive her every morning this year unless I drop her at boys and girls club first (which she also absolutely doesn't want to do because of the new social situation and it is scary).
Grrrrrrrrrrrrrr. I knew I was going to hate the beginning of the school year.

I wouldn't drive her. It would just set a precedent and start you on a slippery slope. ("You drove me on Wednesday...")
I am sorry for Cait, but she has to understand that Mom now has a life, she is 13 (right?) and she needs to go out in the world and deal with stuff as much as she possibly can.

The 1st week of school is usually the PIA. The buses always run late as the drivers and kids get used to the routes/routines. I know Josh is always getting paniced about being late and he will stand outside at the bus stop ayt least 20 mintues earlier than needed. Even once we knew when she would show up. I live right across the sreet from the stop so On crappy days Josh could wait under our awning or in the house till the bus pulled up but Josh insisted he had to be at the bus stop so like the mail man Josh would be at the bus stop.
But Josh can also get upset when he doesn't get what he wants. Igf he has his mind set on something and then it doesn't go his way. Josh tne wants nothing to do with the activity at all.
Who knows.
