HOLY FRIGGIN' GAWD!!!!!

So finally stopped playing phone tag with the psych for Cian. Yes, he has Aspergers.....duh knew that already, now though we'll get it on paper and the school will have to seriously look at his IEP goals.

However here's the interesting part, his IQ scores. He has a 160 for non-verbal and a 99 for verbal, averaging at 133 IQ overall. He scored 138 for memory. I'm not surprised he will have a penchant for math and science, jutslike his Dad, Grandfather and all the men on my mum's side, (all engineers or engineering professors). The gap between verbal and non verbal is worrisome though, I mean that's a 61 point gap. Can we say GT/LD? I know Liam struggled with the 25 point gap in his IQ scores (110 and 135, averaging to 123).

I'll get the report in the next couple of weeks. I'm not all that upset , I think I've been processing and grieving for many months now. And after Liam's dx and the trials and tribulations there, this is not so bad. I shall be watching Roan though, (although she Ms. social butterfly already, lol)

((((Dee))))

I know how you feel. We knew Weston was PDD, but actually getting the scores and looking at what they meant! yikes, makes that sinking feeling in the pit of your stomach. Weston's scores were actually even farther apart than Cian's and with LOTS of therapy his verbal has come up and he's getting much better at the language stuff-- not great but better. AND my DD Martha's scores were the opposite. Way high in verbal and horrible for nonverbal. I figure between the 2-- I have a created a perfect genius! ;-) at least they both are strong in one area.

(((((Dee)))))),

I know this isn't a surprie but it is still a burden. We bridged a big gap between Peter's verbal and non-verbal scores by failing to notice his failing eyesight. His verbal skills rocketed as a result.

Not that I recommend that as a technique...

Well at least you have the ammo to get him good services early on and that will help a lot.

Dee, (((hugs)))

Even though you knew and were prepared it still hurts and makes you worry for the future.
