Just when I thought we were beginning to overreact about Cian (3.10) (mirroring his brother's behaviors rather than being ASD etc...).well, the new OT (whom I reallylike) quietly and unofficially suggested a higher functioning level of Aspergers, and then when we got home after karate he did THIS!!!!!! Everyone....laugh maniacally....now!!!!

If it helps at all, Dave used to line things like that all the time. I have some of the wildest pics. I will have to dig them up. He used to like to dump things in lines too.
He was just making a train mom, honest!

You know, Siobhan never lined things up
Hmmmm...

And Malcolm has also never put anything whatsoever in a line. Although he is best pals with a boy who did it all the time. Does that count?
Very funny photos, Dee!

Mike never lined either. At least not young. I have seen him do some odd organizing things in the past year or so.
Cait and Dave loved to line!

all my boys lined when they were young. I never really thought anything of it until Weston had his most recent eval (at age 8) and they asked that several times. My girls never played w/ cars and trucks that much (because their brothers wouldn't let them touch them probably.) I'm pretty sure #3 son isn't spectrum and #1 only flirts w/ the edges of spectrum.
sometimes you just have to say "Cian is Cian" and figure it'll all shake out in the end.

My DD lines up her toys, but it's only certain ones and its not all the time. These days she lines up her crayons and her Teletubbies dolls. Oh, and the Teletubbies have to be all together and lying next to each other in a perfectly straight line, heads and toes evenly.
Last night, we had three spare diapers sitting on the dining room table and she took them, opened them up and neatly lined them up next to each other on the floor.
I have a nephew, (my sister's son) who is now 9 yo and has ADHD and now possibly Dyslexia. When he was my DD's age, (2-3) he used to line up his toys obessively, especially his Thomas trains. I am amazed sometimes at how much he and my DD have so many of the same little quirks.
Anyway, thanks for the pictures. Your son has a good eye for symetery! I think I might start to take some pictures the next time my DD lines up her stuff too.

Gee i wish someone had clued me in when Josh was younger. I remember going shopping at the mall one day when he was about 4 or 5 and we had gone into a KayBee toy store. I was talking to a clerk and Josh was playing over by the baby strollers and Then he comes to me and says look what I did Mom,... all of the toy stollers were lined up in a nice little pattern. Gee big neon sign there folks. Looking back now. And Josh will still at times line up his cars which he used to do more frequently. Nowadays he will just read the newspaper every night. And G-D forbid we don't let him have it.

Oh man...been there, done that...OVER AND OVER AND OVER AND OVER AND OVER. (hehehehe, get my bad atempt at humor?)
Although I don't believe I ever took a picture of it. LOL
