It's true. I get splitting migraines. Although, not as frequently as I used to. But they're life-disrupting.

Thanks for the idea about the low blood sugar. I hadn't thought of that and will give it a try.

Kristen,

Do you think that maybe his blood sugar is getting low since the headaches happen in the late afternoon? Maybe try giving him a snack before the time that they typically occur. Hopefully, it is something simple like that :)

Good luck!

Hi!

Nick gets headaches too and I can't seem to figure them out either.

Headaches like that are not normal in my experience and I think you should get it checked out. I think you should have your son referred to a pediatric neurologist to rule out any potential underlying physical cause of these headaches (eyestrain or whatever). Does the tylenol help?

Yes my son did the extreme reaction thing too. He still does, sometimes. I don't know when it started to fade with him, now that I think about it. I think he just resigned himself to the fact that if we keep away from everywhere that has a 'problem" (to him) we would never go anywhere! I think some maturity comes into play here too. Peter is almost 10 now.

I hope this helps
