I'm curious if this is something others face to this extent, and what you do --

In short, my 10 yos (autism dx at 3 yrs and again at 4, 6, and 10, along with adhd/migraines) has to be in control. I think much of it is that he likes sameness, hates surprises (and will tell you that) and wants to have his environment be a certain way for his comfort level. However, some of it is just over the top anymore. He talks..a lot..and when you say "shhhh" because you're trying to hear a line from the news segment or someone else, he has to finish his sentence. I know it could be OCD, but that's just one example of him having to be in control. Lunch is at his time. At a store, he wants to do it his way. On and on and on. I don't give in, that's not how life is, but it doesn't seem to be getting any better.

Any ideas on what I could be doing to address it? He's so smart, he figures things out quickly and will say "you're just doing xxx because I'm doing xxx..." and he's often right, so I have to be crafty!
