Maybe we could request a seperate folder for the diet stuff? Call it Diet Riot or take any other suggestions.???

Anyhow, When I opened my book tonight, the first thing that I saw was the handout on Water and what you need to know about drinking it.

Water is quite possibly the most important thing in losing weight and keeping it off. Here are a few reasons:

Water suppresses the appetite naturally and helps the body metabolize stored fat. Studies have shown that a decrease in water intake will cause fat deposits to increase, while and increase in water intake can actually reduce fat deposits. here's why: The kidneys can't function properly without enough water. When they don't work to capacity, some of their load is dumped onto the liver. one of the livers primary functions is to matabolize stored fat into usable energy for the body. But if the liver has to do some of

Go Linda! With everything going on with Linny, I've fallen off the diet wagon again. But today is a new day, and I plan to get back into it!

I'm not doing too good on my water intake. Unless you could count the water in my iced tea..lol. I have retained alot of water and wish I could get rid of it. If so I'd probably loose a good 5 lbs. I just hate the idea of having to go 'rid' the water if I drink so much I guess. (and don't much like the taste of it).

Has anyone tried the Propel water? I haven't looked to see if it has any carbs in it or not.

Yes, water will have alot to do with hormone balance and general well being. It just dillutes all the bad stuff.

It helps you rid your body of alot of impurities. And keeps everything flowing the way it should. I don't just mean kidneys, but overall functions, even blood flow, breathing. If a body is without water for even a day, it's like having mud on a tennis shoe. it will dry up and be gunky, add a little water to it and it will rinse off and be usuable once more. (Im racking my brain trying to think of an imagry to help what I'm trying to say...lol)

Many times at work, some of our residents get dehydrated and they won't talk and they act real sickly. But if we force (I hate that word but it's ideal) them to drink a glass or so of water, then later that afternoon, they feel so much better.

How has everyone been doing on their water intake? I have made sure I have drank my quota for the day plus more. I have noticed that I am drinking way less pop 'Diet Pepsi' but not intentionally. I am excited. My pants feel better and I think I am finally on the right track! I have been doing crunches also.

I should be PMSing but feel I have been doing very well even with DH being hurt and me picking up the extra chores around the house along with working a full time job. DH says I have been acting good. I wonder if the water intake has anything to do with the PMS hormonal balance. Does anyone have thoughts on this?

Well better go for now!

Take care everyone,

Linda

Jumping in late as usual, sorry.

I dislike water as well. If I am really trying to be good and drink enough I will add a splash of fake lemon or even a real piece. Just be sure not to add too much as then you will need to add sugar LOL. As far as I know that's not a problem.

Can we use the Crystal light stuff as well or do we run into problems with that as its no longer pure water?

Becky thanks for you response. I was wondering if it was about the suppression of appetite also.

I go back and forth on liking water. At times it's like I gag on a glass of water. I have not gagged for a while. I got my water intake for today also!

I am eager to hear about the carbohydrates you were talking about.

Thanks,

Linda

I'm not sure on the reasoning of this but I think it's to curve the appetite. and the 5 -6 suggestion may be to curve your dinner appetite and avoid having to get up many times during the night to empty your bladder. I hate the taste of water.. Always have. I drink Tea and lots of it. I try to make myself drink but it's really hard to. I am so swollen from water retention. I even considered diuretics just to see if even the "temporary" sollution would fix me for a day...lol But I couldn't find any to buy today. (Are they outlawed?)

AS far as the 5 -6 thing. If you usally eat supper at

Well I have been doing the water thing and even doing the extra water for the extra weight. I must be getting enough since my urine is nearly clear (that is why the blushing emotion is on). Sorry that too much info.

Becky or anyone who knows this answer. I was wondering what is the reasoning for drinking the quart within a 30 minute time limit also any reason for the last bit being between 5 and 6? I was just wondering about that. A lot of time I am in session between 5 and 6 and don't really want to guzzle water then.

Did anyone do anything healthy that they want to share this weekend? I went to McDonald's after church (Liam's turn to pick the restaurant). I got a Cobb salad with no bacon. Next time I think I'll also ask them to hold the chicken just because I don't like it. Also, I didn't use dressing, so I don't think it was too bad.

I got a lot of incidental exercise. I kept getting phone calls "are you going to be home? We're going for a drive and thought we'd stop by..." So I did a LOT of house work! Unfortunately, I also drank a bit more wine then usual! DH and I did a great deal of yard work, too.
