Ok, so it's been awhile, yes I know! Many YEARS since the gas leak & all the court stuff that followed (For those that might remember!) Mom is better, Dad is mostly better (But still refusing to acknowledge anyone's issues, so like a man) & our DS IS SO COOL now that he's out of the "Terrible years" of early aspie-ness! Switching schools is amazing now instead of a nightmare, because they get to look at all the old "Records" of the way thing's "used to be" & it's great having these recaps into how far we've all actually come together! His classmates are MUCH better prepared for his "eccentricness" then I could ever hope for! Moving every year or so is of course a DRAG but a necessary evil in this military lifestyle we live! WE're currently in Germany & even WITH the issues of getting him into school last year (I'll spare you) he suprised his teachers & administrators & actually passed most of his classes (In a german school) I LOVE the idea of an "Assistant" that spends all of their time with a child in the class instead of them being "removed" for every therapy, so for those that have that option, you have a great deal going! IT worked great for us, finding one that spoke english well enough, was the hard part, lol! The military schools changed their rules this year so he went to a dod school here & is progressing well although the change in "systems" was a bit much for him at first. His classmates in his old school still don't understand it as a "disability" for life just a different way of thinking & being! (Everyone LOVES to play up strong points with him, lol)

WE're finally comfortable enough with the possibility of having to do this all again & are expecting our 3rd this september! MY hubby may have to go to Iraq AGAIN, (He's been home less then 6 months, but that's how life goes here. If that happens I'll be taking the kids home to my parents, one year away was ENOUGH, thank you! hopefully we can settle down for more then 1 year somewhere, maybe..... I can't believe That we went through everything only 5-6 years ago, so close yet so far away.....but doing it again is not so scarey, now that we know what to expect this time!just saying hi!

Welcome back!

I think you must have left here before I joined, because I'm sure I would have remembered a gas explosion!

But no matter, please pull up a chair, help yourself to cybergoodies, and let us get to know you all over again.

no it wasn't a gas explosion or THAT would have made the news, lol! No it was an "undiscovered" leak in an adjoining house. My autistic youngster kept "leaving" compulsively, well one time he left AFTER I passed out but the Military police (Who were called by a concerned neighbor because I "wasn't myself") treatened to take my kids for "neglect, lol" This was how we eventually ended up receiving the notice of people that were actually able to provide help which at the time we were not informed we were eligible for or anything else! (Funny how the JAG laywer paid more attention then the so called, "experts" because HE happened to notice my pupils & skin color changing which the Military Police should have, lol! This was post 9-11, after I lost my job because of 9-11 (Hey they closed the base gates, how would you like me to come to work?) & my husband was having multiple surgeries because of the change in duty type after that!

Ok, that was the short version! Turns out most people here have been "threatened" on at least one occasion or another, it comes with the territory!
