Dropping in to say Hi!

Well, I hope all my old buddies are doing well! We are. My going back to work has been a roller coaster ride to say the least! But worth it (having $ is a good thing, but we still are broke!!!)

Liam and Linnane are at my school with me. Liam is doing great. He is testing like 7th highest for his grade level and really will probably loose his IEP soon. (I'm holding out for next year). His nemesis is still written expression. But if someone else will do the writing, he has the process down, so I think it is more of a sensory motor thing. Thus I'm pushing an Alpha Smart. Either way he is happy! Proving more and more every day that the psych was right and he was not on the spectrum after all.

Linnane is struggling majorly. Just like her brother she just is not ready to read. I hate to say it but I think I'll hold her back next year. She would in no way be ready for 2nd unless things change a lot. She has a wonderful teacher.

Steve and I are adjusting to me working. He is very helpful in the morning. So that is nice as he helps me get us all out the front door! But we all miss the good old days when I did everything for everyone behind the scenes.

Anyhoo, Happy Chrismas, or Hanukkah, (is it Ramadan yet??). What ever season you are celebrating, I wish it to be well for you!

SIO!!!!!!

Good to see you around these parts. We miss you! I have been "back" for awhile since I lost my job in June. I just started a new one last month, but determined not to lose touch again.

It's funny, I thought of you today. I saw a standard poodle and thought of you. Do they shed? Siobhan wants a little dog, and I was kind of thinking "teacup poodle" -although DH would leave me -we just adopted 3 kittens.

Good to hear that the crew are doing so well. Kudos to Liam It sounds like he is doing amazingly well. How has Linny been? Siobhan had pneumonia recently and I thought of her!!

SIO!

I am with Paula, so nice to hear from you! I thought of you too recently when I was getting out my christmas things including a nice set of christmas wine stoppers from an ivillage christmas party in days gone by.

Glad to hear the kids are well. Emily was a little behind in the reading too. Ended up she had vision problems and we had her tested by that vision therapist you gave me the name to years ago. They are our regular optomotrists now too for the kids. THe actually can handle the Mike man. At any rate, some of those exercises and a little more maturity and Emily's reading has really taken off this year (2nd grade). She went from almost all 1's (below grade level) this time last year to almost all 3's (at or above grade level) this year. Hopefuly Linny starts to pick up soon.

Merry Christmas.

Hi Sio!!

Glad the family is doing well! We're doing alright too. Tyler is finding friends at school finally (we moved him to Nathan's school this year!). It just made sense to have them both at one school instead of 2 different schools. Less running around for me!

Nathan is finding 1st grade to be challenging. He was able to keep up academically in kindy, but there's just alot more expected of him this year. Although he's still in a regular mainstream class, he does get pulled out for speech, spec ed (working on reading, phonics), social skills class, and extra help with math. He doesn't seem to mind being pulled out. And he loves school. He's still progressing, but slowly.

We're all ready for xmas too!! The boys are extremely excited, and spend most of the time sitting by their presents, trying to guess what they got!! Of course, they still have their present coming from santa, and stockings too....so they're pretty wound up!!! Hope you have a Merry Christmas!!

Sio!

Tis the ghost of Christmas past! I'm so glad you dropped in to say hi! I was hoping you didn't forget about us, but it sounds like you are completely busy, but everyone is otherwise okay. Did you see the e-zine Candes and Renee founded? asdrendrewolf.org

Stay in touch if you're not too swamped!

I love the ezine!

Actually, the other day my principal said my only real "weakness" was I was still more parent centered then teacher focused. I thought, oh, Renee and Candes would be so proud of me!

Tee hee!

Go for it! DH will be happy to know they do not shed at all, but hair cuts can be pricey.

Miss you, too!

We had Lin tested, too, JIC, but no luck! Her eyes are just fine, darn it all. She just is a struggling reader unfortunately. Hopefully the second ½ of the year will see some growth for her.

I am happy to hear Emily made good progress, though. I hope, what ever it is, we can find some thing that works for Linnane.

Lets meet later in the week for chocolate and red wine!
