Family kicked out of hotel due to noisy autistic child

I read the headline and instantly thought "oh no, not again?" It seems like our kids (and subsequently, us) are getting kicked out of so many places. Churches. Airplanes. Restaurants. Schools. A once child-friendly world is becoming so difficult to please as everyone demands 24/7 comfort, it's scary.

But, the more I hear about it, the less I want to hear about it. I'm disturbed that in trying to get others to understand that this child probably needed just a few minutes to calm down and then he'd be fine (and everyone could go back to sleep), we've become a group of whiners who attack others. I know that's not everyone, but I keep seeing references to this on message boards and email groups and FB, and it's really disappointing. No one's listening to us when we're calling people names and pushing for a boycott of a major hotel chain when they've yet to make a statement -- which is wrong, as I think they need to, but this was one staffer who did something wrong, not the entire company, and it doesn't stand for the whole chain.

What are your thoughts? I don't have a good link to an article -- I can't find one in the news yet, just snippets all over communities and I can't link to them without sharing others' names, but have you heard about this? What do you think?

I agree, i think its very sad that people cannot be more understanding and/or sympathetic.

I haven't found an article yet either, but found some mentions. I think it's sad that people can't be more understanding, the comments aren't very nice at all. There is no level of compassion in people nowadays it seems.

From what I was able to read, it sounds like the staffer was very rude and that needs to be addressed by the company. The company did make a statement on their FB page saying they are looking into it, I hope that some employee training comes from it.
