It has been a while since I posted. I finally have gotten some sort of conformation on what I have thought was the problem.

For those who don't know me I am Kathy and have a son who is 10 who is DXed as ADHD/Bipolar/ODD. He has huge social problems. As a matter of fact is suspended right now for fighting. He says three other boys are messing with him and bothering him. No behavior management program works with him, not rewards, punishment or chips or charts or anything work. The special psychological ed school he goes to is having a hard time with his behavior plan, because nothing really works.

Anyway, today we took Joiner to a new psychiatrist for his problems. After talking to us and to Joiner the doc asked if I knew anything about aspergers. This is the first Dr that has even mentioned it to me. I have long suspected AS in Joiner. The doc said that

KATHY!

Hello again. Good-ish to see you. OK it is good to see you, just a bummer that we have to bump into each other because of the need for these boards.

Your post couldn't have been more timely for me, lol. We just had a HUGE meltdown here because I decided to cut Mike's hair which had gotten completely unruly. This turned into a 45 min meltdown about how I ruined his life when he looked in the mirror. Didn't help that he spent most of the hair cut pulling away and being very sensory.

Joiner does sound alot like my friends DS. A literal alphabet soup where no one diagnosis fits neatly but there is some of this and some of that. He has BP, OCD, TS, ADHD, and PDD-NOS I guess as his diagnosis. There may have been one more but I can't remember it, lol.

We have been doing omega 3's, and C with Mike for a year with much better results. Actually it has been a few things along with that. THey also are on an organic low sugar diet to lower the glycemic load and the constant up/downs and crashes of sugar as well as to get more nutrients to help thier brains. They also take probiotics, etc.

Emily had a horrible problem with encorporesus and Mike has eneuresis at night and you know since adding probiotics and all the rest, I think Mike has wet the bed maybe once or twice. WIth Emily if we keep her on a healthy diet and with probiotics and inulin we are usually ok. If she starts to have a problem I may give her mineral oil for a couple days. The encorporesis is almost always from constipation with her. She gets back up and then some just leaks out.

Nice to see you.

Hi, and thanks Renee. A funny store about Omega 3's. I used to give them to Joiner. He never really said anything about them. One day he decided he didn't want to take them anymore and peed in the bottle! I am going to get more and AM going to keep them in MY bathroom so this wont happen again.
