Hello i thought i would introduce my self and my family. I am a stay at home mom, with one ds named Radek age 3. He was dignosed about a year and half ago with pdd-nos.He is also dignosed with Growth Hormone difficincy and seziures. I have been married to DH for 7 years. My husband is in the millitary and we are stationed in Germany. We are hoping to goto Alaska in November. So if anyone is from there i may need some questions answed in like were to go for sevices and thigs like that. Well that's the short bio. :0) I am looking forward to hear from you all.

Welcome to the board Kirstin! I've never been to Alaska myself but my sister goes a few times a year. She has an AS dd so maybe she can give me some info for you. I'll let you know if she does.

Don't know if you have tried this, or even can but Tricare choice can give you a list of providers for the area. That is how I found the first behavior specialist in this area (she didn't work out but we eventually found what we needed). So, my suggestion would be to call Tricare choice and tell them your situation, they can give you names, addresses and numbers for providers in the area you need.

Kirstin, I asked my sister if she could recomend anything and she bascillay said the same thing Bugs did, check with Tricare. But one more thing came to mind. When I was in the Marines we had Hospitality Wives who were basically the Welcome Wagon on Nitro. LOL. That was a while back though, do the bases still have something like that? I know the services available to dependants has changed a LOT since I was in, but it occurred to me that there might still be something like that around at at least SOME of the bases. If there is you might be able to get in contact with the HW for your pay grade group in Alaska and see if she can help you research and locate the things you will need for your ds. Just a thought.
