and I and not sure I am in the right place. I am 30 years old and just now found out I have Aspergers Syndrome. My mother says I dont and it is a load of crock, but now that I am in therapy I see it. I was hoping I could hang around and get some support from you ladies (my support team is seriously lacking) that is if you dont mind having me around.

Hi Liv,
My ds was dx last Dec with an Autism Spectrum Disorder. He is now 5 starting kindy. My dh feels strongly that he himself has Asperger's but won't get a formal dx. It really explains a lot about dh's life. Hope you stay and can also find adult supports too.

As we were getting a diagnosis for our kids, we realized that dh also has Asperger's, and his mom probably did, too. Dh is always saying he wished he knew as a kid what he knows now about autism spectrum disorders. At least since it's not just the kids or not just dh with the problems, they feel less alone with their challenges. I'm glad you found a good therapist to help you. What a difference knowledge makes!

Welcome Liv. Our children have Asperger's, but I wouldn't mind to hear from you from the adult perspective. We are here for you, but are just learning about this all ourselves. I say you are welcome. I'm sorry you aren't getting the support you need, but hopefully from the medical profession. I will try to give you all the support you need. I believe, knowing a bit about Asperger's, that my mother has it, but she won't admit it.

Take care.
