Hello everyone.

I want to begin by saying how happy I am to have found this site. I am desperately looking for a stronger support system.

My name is Tracy. I am a single parent of 3 amazing angels. My oldest Diandra(12) followed by my main man Derick(4) and the baby-Sherridan(18months).

My little man was dx'd PDD-NOS with SID in november of last year. The PDD dx is still under investigation. He goes to see his ped tomorrow to find out what his 'abnormal' EEG is supposed to mean. He goes to see his psych on the first, for the first time. I can't wait for as morbid as that sounds.

Finding the answers, that's the hard part for me. Playing the waiting game drives me nuts. We have a lot of issues that we are trying to address. I'm sure I'll be coming here for advice and a shoulder every now and then.

Where I live, there aren't very many people that can relate to what I'm going through. Finding this site is a sanity saver in itself.

I'll be talking later. Thanks for listening.

Tracy

Well, I'm just going to have to do a roll call on Monday! There are quite a lot of new members! Please know we are also quite happy you have found us! We try to be a safe, warm place in the storm that goes with having special needs kiddo's. We also love to share the joys and accomplishments of our children (to include the NT ones!!!)

So please pull up a comfy chair, check out our website, &/or look through old posts. Remember venting and rambling are required typing, and take some cyber chocolates!

Welcome,

Sio

Hi Tracy,

I'm new here too. I have a little girl (Paige, 7) who was just diagnosed with Asperger's. I understand what you mean about the community unable to relate. We live in a small town and it is tough for others (even some family members) to understand. Fortunately, our school district is quite large and there are other children in it with Asp., just not too many in my daughter's particular school.

The not knowing part you mentioned...yep, that's the worst for me too. We tried so many different evaluations to find out what was going on in Paige and nothing seemed to encompass it all. Little pieces here and there...but nothing strong enough to qualify for support. I was driving myself crazy with worry and frustration for her. I think this diag. hit it on the head. Finally. Although, I'm still questioning. I just don't want to do wrong by her.

Welcome...it looks like we joined with a big handful of newbies this week.

Sincerely,

Courtney
