Your only as old as you feel!

Ok, I was laughing about this all day yesterday. People would ask "how old are you?" I would answer, gee if you are only as old as you feel I am thinking about 107 today!

This year I started to have to cover my grays, I noticed wrinkles and a fair amount for the first time in my life. My daughter started middle school and her period. My baby started kindergarten. I can't loose the last 20 pounds to save my life. I found I have the beginnings of arthritis in my knee, so this year I am 107. And yet only 37.

So how old are you? How old do you feel? How often does it change?

Well, I'll be 29 in April. I don't think about it too much, I guess. Except I think I have a lot of gray for someone my age. And I never expected to be divorced ever, especially before 30. But hopefully by the time I turn 30, I'll be much happier and healthier then i am now!!

well, I'm 38 for a couple more months. in the morning before I get out of bed I feel about 100, once I get up and get my joints moving I feel a bit better, full of energy and ready for the day, so then I feel about 25. about noon I feel tired and hungry-- my normal age 38, and when the kids get home from school I feel about 65-- ready for them to leave and me to hit retirement! By bedtime I'm back to feeling 100 again!

This is an interesting question.

I agree, interesting question! I waver a lot between feeling 16 and feeling 100. And some rare times, I feel right where I'm supposed to be...34. Young enough to be perky, but old enough to know better. LOL. Sometimes, I look at how far I have left to go and wonder if I have it in me to carry two people with me if they can't care for themselves when they are grown in addition to my parents since I am the only child. They are in their 50s and already kind of hobbling along physically. Then I feel very exhausted when I think too far ahead like that. Then at times, I think how very short of time I have to get it done and find ways to squeeze the pleasures of life in there from time to time. The curse of conscious man.

If your joints are getting to you...you have to try magnesium citrate. Cheaper than that glucosamine stuff, too. The solgar's is over $8 per bottle, but it lasts for 2 months. Okay, okay, I'll stop being boring again. It just works amazing!

Well, I fortunately....and I mean fortunately, look like I'm in my late teens early 20's. (But that's just because of genetics). But I'm actually 37 and will be 38 in 3 months! Most of the time, I do feel my age....I'm always tired!!! But I do wish I felt the way I look!!!!!

And it would be great to actually feel, intellectually speaking, like I'm an adult. Which I rarely feel. I still feel like a kid, TRYING to do everything....but not really sure I'm doing it right!!! LOL

Dh calls me a "little girl". Now Tyler is starting to refer to me as this!!! lol The sad thing....in a couple of years (maybe sooner), he will ACTUALLY be taller than me (we are already wearing the same size in clothes and shoes). And then I REALLY will be a "little girl" to him!!

Well, I am 43 with a 3 yr. old. Sometimes that makes me feel young, other times old. When Eric was born I was just starting to get gray hairs, decided to color with highlights then. Am blessed with good skin genetically, few wrinkles and until recently, a fast metabolism, so I look 30 something, no credit to me just luck.

But I don't feel it. In the am I feel middle-agish, 40-50. Take a shower, coffee, breakfast and I am down to 35-40. By the middle of the day, feeling good, I can pretend I am 30 something. Night comes and it's back to the middle age thing again.

Plus, just this year, I've discovered I cannot skip exercise. I used to be able to go for a few weeks without any, then drop right back in like nothing happened. Now, miss even a few days and I feel flabby and it takes much longer to get back into the groove at the gym.

DH and I really feel health is utmost priority now, with little DS and parents on both sides over 65. We are the sandwich generation and it's scary. But gotta take care of ourselved first in order to take care of others.

I guess age is relative!

I'm 37 (38 in March)....most days I feel about 37 - maybe a little younger. I have never been a morning person so I definitely feel older in the mornings. Lately my lower back has been giving me problems.....when that happens I feel 55 or older.

Well, I am the oldest probably at 44 and will be 45 in May. I feel this age or older, although most people say I look a bit younger. I do have some gray coming out, but that doesn't bother me. I'd rather have that over wrinkles and I don't have wrinkles. I guess I say that because my mom is all wrinkling, but she doesn't have one gray hair at 74.

But my body isn't in great shape. When I exercise I feel better so I must do that. I am out of shape and overweight and I already have carpal tunnel, reflux, a hiatal hernia, back pain, arthritis and various aches and pains. I am sure if I was in better shape I would feel better. I feel tired a lot of the time also. I usually feel better around late morning to early afternoon and feeling about 40 maybe LOL. I know others my age in better shape so I must work on that.

It sure pays to take care of yourself so you can also care for others.

Hmmm.

I'm 38½. I am told I look younger. Probably because I dye my hair to hide the gray and wear it long. The wrinkles show when I smile, and I think I need braces for my teeth!

I have no idea how old I feel. Sometimes I feel very young and out of my depth. Like tomorrow, I have to lead a serious negotiation in work and I don't feel grown-up or senior enough to go through with it.

I am often made to feel like the 'mom' at work. Most of the people in our team are quite young, and I am older than many of my peers because I took some years out with the kids. Last month the Chairman jokingly asked me if he could be excused from a meeting because I was the "mom" of the meeting. I'm not sure how I felt about that...

Sometimes I feel about 6. There is a lightswitch by the back elevator at work. It has "LEAVE ON. DO NOT TURN OFF!!!" written all over it. Every morning, I have to supress the urge to flick it and run away! I also like to chase pigeons in NYC. Nevermind if I am wearing full business attire, high heels, hat, coat, briefcase. If I see a congregation of pigeons in the street, I run straight through them, and watch them fly!

At heart, I guess I never really grew up! I just manage to fool most of the people, most of the time.

OK, OK, I seriously beat you all. I will be 49 in April. But this is NOT well known, as I don't look it. I have great genetics, and the hairdresser keeps those greys FAR, FAR away!!! And this means, next year, 50 years old --- GASP!!! That's a bloomin' half a century. But DH is 8 years younger, so noone is really the wiser ... unless they start adding up how many lifetimes I have lived HA!!! Anyways, if I am asked, I usually say "ageless". And I live in sweat clothes, jeans, sneakers and T-shirts, actually, I very seldom resemble a grownup unless absolutely necessary.

How old do I feel? Well, at least my age many days. Sometimes I feel lots younger (how could I be this age, there's so many more things to do in my life), some days I feel older, today I feel younger but without any kind of interesting enough life!!! OK, I'm just a little blue and very tired today. I became a mom the same year I turned 40, so if you figure out how old Malcolm is and add 40 years, you will always know...
