Carol, mom to Megan here. Megan has all the crappy things in my siggy, but she's actually doing really well. My goals were to get Megan pretty functional using our computer to play some simple games, and using her new augmentative device.

Well, the device still hasn't even been ordered because our crappy insurance still hasn't made a decision on it. if they'd just deny it, it would be fine because Medicaid will pay secondary and they've already approved it.

And as far as the computer, even though I now have a plethora of fun, learning games, she wants nothing to do with it. She just wants to be outside, finding snails in our yard. I can't really blame her - it is summer. But I'd be happy with 20 minutes a day, and she is really fighting me on it.

I guess another goal, is to just relax and have fun. I took the kids to the park yesterday for a long time, and we played in our blow-up pool in the back yard for a long time on Tuesday.

Megan starts ESY next week. She has 4 weeks of that, and John has 2 different summer camps for 2 weeks each.

Beth here my little man Elijah (3 1/2) brings me here with global developmental delays, mild hypotonia, motor planning issues, verbal apraxia and who knows what else (the doctors sure don't LOL). He is making some great gains though so we are happy people!!!

Goals for the summer #1 Potty Training: boy is this a dream of mine, I would really like to have him out of diapers before he turns 4 and another cold Maine winter starts. #2 Self Dressing: such a battle of wills right now I am hoping with a summer of really sticking to it we can make it happen for him. I guess we will call it the summer of self help skills!!
He will be having ESY services for the whole summer with no interruptions so onward we go.

Happy summer to you all!!

First, Sarah, that is wonderful to hear about Emma!! I was reading through old posts when I first discovered this board and remember reading your heartbreaking post about needing to accept that they would never speak...at the time they had just two words. So that is just amazing news!

Anyway...I am Nicole, I'm pretty new here. I live in Austin, Texas but we're thinking of moving to Boise, ID next spring. I am a first time mommy to Zoe who is 16 months. Zoe has torticollis, mild hypotonia, sensory processing disorder, developmental delays, wears SMOs, and is newly diagnosed with an expressive language impairment and just started speech therapy 2x a week to go with her OT and PT once a week.

My goal. To get my head screwed on straight. I also take Zoe to Gymboree 1-2 times a week and to a swim class, so I really need to find a balance so I don't feel stressed out all the time and guilty that I'm not doing enough for her.

Zoe's goal. She only has one word right now and I would love her to have three words by the end of the summer. Her SLP's goal is 15 words in 4-6 months! That seems crazy to me but I love the idea of it.

Hi all,

I am Mary and the cutie below is Devon, my sweet dd.
She is now 2 yrs. old and is picking up little skills here and there. The biggest one being that she is able to stand with support! I have been putting her her skirts and pants with her standing and the feeling that gives me, I cannot describe.

The biggest thing that I would like to accomplish to to make a baby!
The other thing I would like to achieve is to find the best school for Devon's E.I. We plan to enroll her this Sept.

Pretty big goals, but I think we can do it!

Have a great summer all!
Mary and Devon
