Dealing with discrimination?

Have you been in a situation where you feel your child was discriminated against?
There was a lot of focus on a news report out of California, a DS teen and his parents were kicked off of their flight because they said he was being disruptive in the terminal and deemed him a security risk. The parents deny the accusation, said he was very calm before the flight, and has flown many times before without a problem.
I'm really irate at this excerpt from the article, they rebooked the family on a different flight:
On the second airplane, the family was placed in the last row and no passengers were allowed to sit within two rows of them, Vanderhorst said.
How would you have handled this situation?

If I'd been in this situation in the article, I would have been one seriously unpleasant, though eerily calm, mother. And that bit about the second plane... I'm not at all litigious, but lawsuit is all over that whole thing. Not allowing people to sit near?!? Unbelievable.
