My son started OT about a month ago and this past week we started home listening therapy with him doing Vital Sounds.

Hi -
My daughter Kaia does Therapeutic Listening (website is vital links so I am not sure it is the same one you are using)

She has been listening for a year and a half now and it has been an amazing therapy for her. Her speech exploded from it, she went from not talking very much to being a chatter bug, she became much more outgoing, her core strength has increased as well as her having much better eye contact, less sensitive to sounds etc..... it has been an amazing program for her. The OT we use for this therapy also does yoga with her, and the 2 combined has helped considerably. I can not even tell you how good this was for her, and I was very skeptical before we started. Kaia's developmental pediatrician recommended it and we figured we had nothing to loose by trying it.

She did have a very hard time on some of the CD's we had some behavioral problems we never had before as well as bathroom accidents which hadn't had since she was potty trained, but they all worked out as time went on. Kaia's 2nd OT (we use her for the sensory gym once a week, and for fine motor once a week) would not read what the Cd's were supposed to do, and then she would write her observations at the end of the 2 week listening. She would email them to the OT we use for the listening and they matched almost every time.

If you have any questions please feel free to ask.

Yes, I think that is the same listening therapy program.

Our OT wants to start our daughter on that therapy after school is out for the summer. She said it's pretty intensive so we need to have time to commit to it.

I'm curious about it myself. I'll certainly fill you in after we start it.

Does he enjoy it during listening time?
