we just make up silly rhymes in our house...like lets see if gabe is getting a bath...I might say silly things like wash your hair...wash your feet...so that you are clean and neat...but I do it in a sing song voice...

we do some crazy ones that make no sense...but they are funny...we even make up words...gabe doesn't have enough speech to even help with this...but I figure it isn't going to hurt him to listen to his crazy mom...

we also sing a lot of kids songs....Raffi is a great kids muscian...he sings this one some about a spider on the floor...and then there is the wilabee walabee woo song....

you son could just make

Yeah, we've been doing this type of stuff ... just didn't know if there were any board or computer games.

He actually HATES the Dr. Suess type rhyming books, LOL. He complains if I try to read them. But I do voice rhymes all through the day, he sees me as being silly (and in public will now ask me to stop --- oh they grow so fast).

He's reacting to rhymes like he did with learning the sounds of the letters. So asking him to try one frustrates him & will end playtime.

I made up games for phonics, perhaps I need to sit down & start making the same type of games, but with rhymes ... in fact I just thought of a good one while writing this! Play BINGO ... but, instead of calling out B3 you call out a word & he has to find the rhyming word to place a chip on that space. I'll just try to think of some words where he can match the final letter & some where they do not match ... or use a bunch that uses the same last letter???

We do have some computer games that my kids love but they are Dr Suess ABC and Green Eggs and ham. They read the book but you can interact with the game and make different things happen, the kids crack up when they play with these.

Oh thank you ... sheeze, I wonder what happen to that disc? I'm going to go look for it and see if it even works any more. He did LOVE that disc at one time. That was before he learned to navigate the Internet so well. Which is making me think of I know that .com ... they might have something too.

I made the Bingo game, we are going to play after school today. I'm using some Hooked on Phonics cards we've already been using for reading. So I took those cards, found rhyms to them all & then made two Bingo cards with them. So many of the words will have more than one & I made sure some words do not even look similar, like you & blue.

He LOVES games ... I get the best out of him when we play it in game form.
