I've been browsing around this site and noticed that a number of parents with children diagnosed with sid/spd also have the condition themselves?

I was wondering if you have childhood memories of how sid impacted your childhood. School, friends, parents?

Do you have specific memories of occasions where your parents got it really, really right/or really, really wrong in relation to your sensory issues?

I think you are all in a unique position of being able to empathasise much more closely with your children because you have walked that road. What do you remember and what could/should your parents have done differently? Would you be willling to share from your unique viewpoint?

Very hard to consentrate in school, didnt really go away. Fidgety, always needing to change positions or wiggle my foot, this was noticed by my fellow students who sat close and had their desks bumped a lot... now I find if I sit on my feet I can hold still longer. Other things bug then and bug now, but these are probably the most effective on me. ~love my red
