Today my older son(4) had Sibling Day at pre-school. Dh & I had discussed whether to participate b/c of Corbin and his "issuses". My older son really wanted us to bring his little brother and sister. My Dh was off today so we decided to attempt it. Corbin did great! He particpated in circle time and tried to do the motions to "Going On A Bear Hunt". He didn't hit or bite anyone. He seemed to be enjoying it. We stayed just under an hour. I felt he was a "regular" kid. He even hugged the teacher good-bye! (He doesn't hug anyone except for us and thats only when he wants to.)
Now that were all home he has been melting down and hitting everytime I turn around. I've tried to get him to jump and play or rock. It seems like I can't do anything for him. How can he be so in sync earlier and now I can't help him at all? I don't know what to do? One minute I think he doesn't have SPD and next I wonder if he's going to be able to lead a "normal" life. I know things could be alot worse and I'm sorry for being a big whiner. I'm just wondering if you ladies go through these "normal" spells only to be slapped in the face by reality? What do you do?
