sensory issues are such a weird thing....some of what she is doing definatly sounds sensory....my mom used to pretend talk in this high pitch voice...and i would get so upset with her...I couldn't deal with her doing that...but someone else might do it and it wouldn't bother me at all....same with my dad...he absolutly couldn't eat or drink out of anything that I was eating or drinking out of...but my mom could and I was okay with that....

so some of it might be control...like talking on the phone...she might just want your attention....has she had an eval by an OT or does she have any other issues?

It could be a bit of auditory filtering, but like pp said sensory issues are a hard thing to determine with an OT.
