Feingold Diet

Anyone here try it? I know there was some discussion about food dyes a while back. After that I started really thinking about it. I am trying to eliminate red 40 right now and I think it is making a difference! So I am encouraged to try to figure out if more foods/dyes are having an impact on Marissa's behavior. I looked at Feingold.org and I don't know if I can eliminate all those foods. We do have an allergist appt in 2 weeks. Do you think I should just focus on the food dyes right now and wait for the food until after the appt? I am deciding if I should order the books. Thanks for any info!

Thanks Rachel. I think others here mentioned a blue dye too, I will try and find it. Also I saw something about corn syrup on the feingold site: http://www.feingold.org/program-pg.html Let's see if it links it, if not it is under stage one other items to consider, or something like that.

Corn Syrup or other corn sweetener. (CS)
This is NOT the same as sucrose, or fructose sugars. Most people tolerate sugar in moderation fairly well. Many people do NOT tolerate Corn Syrup, made from hydrogen sulfide + corn starch and many other added chemicals.

It is interesting, I was thinking I couldn't have her avoid the whole list of things under Salicylates. But it looks like the way they have you do it is eliminate them all for 4-6 weeks then put them back in 1 by one.

For now I will have her avoid red 40 and maybe corn syrup until her allergist appt.

Thanks again.
