we have been trying to get my daughters peditrican to sign a form , and get her a referal, for over 2 months now. She needs some paper work signed and feeled out so she can get some equpiment for her SI. The referal is for her to go to the dignostic clinic. My DH and I, also her Therapist have been trying to get this done since april. Seems like he is just putting my DD off, on something she needs so bad. It is so fustrating. I am getting so mad at him for not even trying to help. Thank you for leting me vint. A very mad mom right now. Any ideas what else for us to do? Thank you...Karen and Sienna

I know how you feel! It is sooooo frustrating. I've experienced the same thing you have with my daughter (she has severe reflux and sensory issues). Anyway, to get my doctor to take me a little more seriously, DD's OT and SLP went to my daughter's 18 month "well baby" appointment to explain the severity of the situation and to persuade the doctor to fill out the necessary referal and paperwork (both to get respite services and to get a referal to a developmental delay pediatrician for an official evaluation). Maybe if your DD's therapist would be willing to go with you to one of her doctor appointments you would get some action. Just a thought -- it worked in my case.

Thank you, for that suggestion, any thing is worth a try. Didn't even think about having my Daughters OT coming with us. Thanks again. Karen and Sienna

We schedule a consult with the Dr. and discuss what is going on with my son. I then have him sign it, make a copy for me and have him fax it. I then call to see if they received the referal, if not I have a copy and mail it to them.

FOr me I get all the paperwork together that I can and make a doctor's appointment, and give them the paperwork and have them sign it right with me and take it back to where it has to go...

I learned my son's peditrician was not going to cooperate with me when I was getting his dynavox and she would not give me her liscence number...I called the AMA and they gave it to me...
