Getting an Official Diagnosis?

My son has been receiving OT for his sensory issues since he was around 6 months old, but now his school wants a doctors note stating that he does indeed have Sensory Integration Disorder. I haven't really gone through my pediatrician for the diagnosis, nor have I really discussed it with him,

You certainly can ask your pediatrician. I'm an education administrator, and I wonder why the school needs this information, and is not willing to accept documentation from the OT? You could ask them. You can develop a 504 plan together to help your child.

umm why wouldnt the OT's diagnoses count?? They are the experts in this field they no 10 times more about spd then most pediatricians will.

I guess u could try having the OT write something out and then take it to the doc and have him agree and sign it.
