How did your kids do with Christmas?

Just wondering how the SI kids did with Christmas? McKay liked the gifts, but he absolutely hated opening the presents. Touching the paper made him cringe. So finally, Michael opened McKay's gifts. Michael LOVED opening the presents and completely ripped through the paper in seconds flat. He seemed to want to just cover himself in the paper and soak in all the noise and new colors and toys. McKay tended to get a present he liked, and would go downstairs to the family room and kind of destress with that and then come up for more when he had recovered from all of the noise of before. But all in all, it was pretty good.

Mckay sounds adorable Rachel!!o

Madison did ok, she was definitely on overload by 11am, however!....... Maddy & her sister were up by 6:00am so I knew we were going to be in trouble, her already low tolerance was even lower & she had little patience for noise -- it certainly didn't help that Santa brought all 3 of my kids harmonicas! (What on Earth was Santa thinking????!!!!)

Anyway, Maddy has each year been incredible with opening gifts, she does tend to gingerly go ahead & open, waiting for her brother & sister to go first. She was absolutely enraptured with the gerbil her Aunt brought over later for her & spent a great deal of time watching her! (Very therapeutic I'd say)

She did, however, meltdown a couple of times & we needed to decompress to ward off the grumpy monster!

Gabriel did alright for Christmas. He loved opening presents Christmas morning, but we had Christmas w/ my husbands family at our house this year (10 kids and 10 adults)! Lets just say Gabriel was throwing himself (literally) into everyone while they were opening presents. He was a little over stimulated. We also had two more stops after our Christmas party. Hopefully next year we will only have one Christmas party to go to.

We had a good Christmas... on Christmas Eve we opened gifts at grandma's. PJ decided he liked ONE thing a fishing pole and he was going fishing at 9:00 that night URGHHHH! What a long night that was! On Christmas Day he enjoyed opening gifs at home but really only liked one gift again! He couldn't stay focused on any one thing and just went from gift to gift saying more!
