My ds has OCD. I'm not implying your ds does. My ds comes up with many different things he HAS to do. We were told to ignore it or it will become worse. And true, he drops one thing and gets new things he must do.

Could it perhaps be a tic? I have a nephew with tics and he does them most when excited or nervous. I don't know if it would actually be a sensory issue or not. If so, I assume your already seeing a therapist for the muscle tone. Perhaps they have suggestions.

Just going off my own experiences here, My ds OCD does not seem to be effected by excitement though. Maybe he just gets that excited. I ignore the people who stare at my kiddos. I know easier said than done.

It's hard to say. My 7 and 9 year olds both hum and it helps them block out other things and consintrate. I wonder if that's what's going on. Have you talked to an OT or doctor about it?
