I saw this question on another board and thought that it would be good on this one, especially for those of you with children with oral sensory issues.

I have a horrible problem with lunches.

Here are all the acceptable lunches I've used, they are not very nutritious - but at least he'll eat about half of something. Plus I always knew they'd get a snack later on & I made healthy granola for him to snack on (chocolate has always been a way to get him to try stuff) - I don't think 3rd grade gets snacks, so a we bit more nervous for this year (starts on 7th):

1. Vanilla yogurt, a flour tortilla & apple juice (only juice he'll drink).

2. Pepperoni (new food late in the year) & Ritz crackers with mozz cheese & apple juice.

3. Peanut butter sandwich (though rarely touched & is just now accepting jelly) & milk.

4. Peanut butter/ritz sandwiches & milk.

---

Note to mom's of kids just entering school:

He has 100% control of his lunch. I found if I put any food he will not eat into his lunch box, such as carrot sticks, he would see it and simply not eat anything. I could not put in a cookie here & there, b/c that would be the only thing he ate. I found 1-2 items ONLY with a drink worked best.

Good luck!

My son is so picky I doubt any ideas from anybody else will work - but I just may be surprised :)
