Oral Sensory Issues?
| Fri, 02-15-2013 - 3:41pm |
Do any of your children have oral sensory issues? If so, how have you worked with them on it? What types of foods do they struggle with?

Oh, heck yes. And oddly, his oral sensory issues are the reverse of the rest of his sensory stuff; sensory averse rather than sensory seeking. He also has oral motor problems that limit what he can chew and swallow. He has trouble with hard, crunchy textures or anything slippery like natural fruit/veggie stuff. And toothbrushing is my own personal hell.

Most fruit seems to be a problem.
Hi there!! I am so glad to find this message board. I have felt so lost for the last 3 years. My son only eats bacon, crackers, dry cereal and drinks pediasure. No one seems to know what to do for him. It is so sad.
