SID hereditary?

Does anyone with multiple children notice SID in more then one of your children. I am already seeing alot of the same early signs in my 7 month old as I saw in my SID child at that age. He is easily overstimulated and seeks pressure, especially when trying to get him to sleep. I have to apply pressure and jiggle him just the right way to get him to sleep, just like his older brother. I know it is too early to know, but curious about other people's experiences.

Oh heck yea I think it is hereditary. I am not sure about my 2yo yet, but both of my older boys have had sensory struggles. I did not realize I had any sensory problems until seeing what my kids were going through. I was always told I was being ridiculous when I was a child, no one knew anything about it then. I think understanding it has helped me help my kids better. My oldest has overcome a lot of his past sensory struggles and it is almost a non issue with him now. My 5yo we are in the middle of it with so I am not sure how much of it he will grow out of or overcome, his issues are much bigger than it was with my other son.

My mother has recently explained things to me that make me think I got it from her. She complains about certain textures (cannot stand peanut butter, butter or cheese because of the texture) and has said other similar comments about other things that make me think she too has some sensory issues.

Oh I have always believed it was hereditary. As u can see we have the adults SPD just for that reason. I have SPD as do three of my five children. There has got to be something in the genes
