I am a divorced mom with 3 kids at home. My youngest has a sensory disorder. We go to OT, PT, speech and counselors appts. weekly. I get no child support. I have sole custody and my ex doesn't see the kids. I work a few part-time low paying jobs. I was a stay-at-home mom for almost 20 years. Now I am over age 50 and can't get work that will work around my son's appts. I do part-time proofreading and work occassionally as an RN doing insurance physicals. I have about six years of college education.
An adult has to watch him for safety issues and melt downs. He has high IQ, but lower cognitive function, and not great communication skills, and ADHD. We are currently doing nutritional supplements; but so far I haven't seen any improvement in the ADHD. Sometimes I feel overwhelmed! I have no family besides my kids to help. It is terrible trying to parent 3 boys by myself. My church doesn't help at all. Any ideas so we won't end up on the street?
