We are having mu MIL, FIL, SIL, BIL and 2 neices come for Thanksgiving from NC. We have decided to travel to them only every other Thanksgiving (and to my parents every other Christmas in NY) to cut back on our airline expenses (which are crazy high even with this cut back). We really didn't think they would all come here, but they will be here at 1! So I am crazy getting the house ready.

I wont be around much til next week. But I wanted to tell everyone how welcome I have felt here. Rachel you are a great cl. I have been "trying out" a bunch of SI boards and this is by far the friendlest bunch :)

Happy Thanksgiving everyone!

I thought y'all were coming to my house!!!!??

Hey, we don't mind the mess, we'll even have special toothpicks just for Olivia! ;) (And I'll put Marissa right next to Maddy Moo)

Actually we host Thanksgiving -- My Nana used to have the traditional Italian feast that I try (but can never match) to emulate.

We're having my Mom & Dad, my brother & sil along with my nephew for the main course -- then we're an open house for dessert & spirits!.........(Our best friends & my Aunts come as well as my cousin & her family)

Trust me, we love to eat!........

I am so thankful for you girls, I absolutely love you guys -- and not to mention that Rachel, despite everything that you've had going on with Olivia, you've done such a bang up job here & have kept us moving! I'm so grateful for you doll..........

And I cannot wait to continue sharing our stories & getting to know your kids better through this holiday season!

Enjoy your Thanksgiving holiday gang! And may it be a 'sensible' one for our kids!...... :)

Hi:

We are going to my parents for Thanksgiving. We will have dinner in the restaurant in their clubhouse in their new retirement complex. I'm not too excited about it since it is the first time we will be eating in a restaurant for Thanksgiving. My mom would always make the same thing year after year before which I like. I'm also not too sure about how Adam will be in a nice restaurant. It should be interesting, especially since he has a raging cold right now which doesn't look like it is getting better anytime soon. His cough is actually starting to sound bad like bronchitis or something. I think I will take him to the doctor tomorrow to be on the safe side.

Assuming Adam is well enough to fly, we will be flying off to Arizona on Saturday to visit my husband's parents. I'm worried about his ears though and I hope the doctor will give him an antibiotic tommorow, but we will see. It is a five and a half hour flight which would be horrible under normal circumstances with a kid who won't sit still for a minute, but with him sick I can't even imagine. We actually bought a portable DVD player last weekend to bring with us so he can watch Sesame Street which he loves. That may be our only potential salvation. Then I am very nervous about the two hour time change. It is two hours earlier there. We will be coming back on Thursday and I will have to stay one night with Eric's parents alone with Adam because he has to go to a work conference. I am especially not looking forward to my time alone with them. His mother always brags about her daughter's children who live in Colorado who she sees quite often. She has a grandson who is six months younger than Adam who is typically developing. They will just be coming back from seeing them for Thanksgiving so I'm sure she will be talking about him more than ever. I think I may have to say something this trip to try to get her to stop, but I don't know what to say that is diplomatic. I am going to be especially sensitive this trip because I am constantly obsessing still about whether or not Adam is on the spectrum. His eval. with the psychologist will be the Tuesday after we get back so he has a few days to adjust to the time change.

We will only be home for that week and then we will be going on a cruise to the Carribean with my parents which I'm really looking forward to. I hope that Adam will be healthly by then. Once end of November or the start of December, it just seems like he is sick constantly for the winter or at least that was how it was last year.

That's about it. Sorry for rambling on. I provided a lot more info than requested.

We will be going over to MIL & FIL's here in town. SIL with the wild out of contol niece will be there and so will my mom and step-dad. This should be interesting since Makenna has been out of control herself since Friday.

And I have to second the info about this being a great board. I have a couple of other places I *try* and post questions but maybe only get 1 response. I really like it here. I wish I could post more and respond more but I'm really stressed with Makenna and trying to finish up school. But, as soon as this semester is out, I'll be here more! :)

Just got done baking my pumpkin roll. We are going to SIL. With our 7 nieces and one nephew (not to mention my two). Talk about sensory overload. Hopefully it will go smooth. We don't see this side of the family as often.

Happy Thanksgiving girls!!

Kim

Shanna - we are happy you found us too :)
