We recently got the SPD dx's. I do believe that Corbin(almost 3) has SPD. I'm just wondering if I need to dig deeper. He hit and kicked his speech therapist today. I'm not sure if it was b/c she touched him (he hates that) or b/c he wasn't getting his way. We don't spank(or hit). I'm very consistent that his behavior has consquences, whether it good or bad. When I say no, no means no! If I was hasty in my reply I take a mental note for next time but NO still stands. I guess I'm telling you all this b/c I'm so confused as to what to do next? I try to be a loving, caring, and teaching parent but his agressive behavior is tearing me down! I'm so frustrated when he is agressive to someone I barely know.(I almost expect it at home, as sad as that is.) I don't know the answer to help him learn this is not acceptable. How do you know if it's SPD or is there another dx thats inevitable? If it's not to personal does anyone have any other dx's for their dc? How did you decide to persue it? Did you keep a journal? What types of things did you include?

For me I just knew what was going on with my DD, but I didn't have the same issues as you.

Thanks Rachel, I love what you said about puzzles. I think I do need to get over my feelings of a dx's and do whats best for him. It's not just the hitting, he does other things. I just don't want people not to see him for the loving, bright, and wonderful child he can be.
Hope you have a great weekend!
