Not sure if you can help or not.
I know it must be scary with so many unanswered questions. I am not in the medical profession and I would hate to give you the wrong information. Sometimes fluid on the brain can be referred to as Hydrocephalous. It may or may not be accompanied by delayed development. I really don't know what the cause of Hydrocephalous is or if that is the condition of your friend's baby. You can search the web for more info on that condition. Best of luck to your friend. Another thing to consider...my friend just had a baby. For three months during her pregnancy the doctor was sure her daughter had Microcephely (the opposite of the above mentioned condition). Right before the baby was born they did another ultrasound and everything seemed normal. The doctor said the interpretation of the ultrasound was probably incorrect or got mixed up with someone else's numbers. There were a lot of tears shed until they found out everything was okay (they already had a 4 yr old with that condition). So...you can know that ultrasound results are not always 100%.
Check back with us after the baby is born. If there are problems I may be able to give you information for support or assistance.
Hi... your friend is so lucky to have a friend like you!
