My DD has recived EI since she was about 4 months old for OT tight musles but now all better she is now 10 months and has recently started speech she has a mild moderate hearing loss my ds who is 2 1/2 just started EI for speech to day he had speech and the speech person told me that she is leaving EI my kids have been in speech for a month Why did she take on 2 new kids if she was interviewing for jobs? Both kids are slow to warm up and have become attached to Amy My DS askes for her in the am Yesterday he was in tear because it was not a Amy day (She comes once a week at 8am sound early but its great we are up and not waiting around for it to be time all dsy we can do other things with our day.) It took 3 weeks to find a speech person who could meet both ds and dd needs and had space to take on 2 kids. Also ds ifsp says he will go to group I ask our service cordinator dd OT fequently but am told there is no space right now hes going to be three in June he will be to old by the time there is space he going to twice and be to old I am very frustated and don't know what to do. Do I call the director or my service cordinator? HELP???

Well, there isn't much you can do about the SLP leaving, but you can call whoever the "boss" is and have your questions answered. If the coordinator is not in the position to make the "big" decisions, you want to go to the person who is. Also, if EI is run out of your school district, you might try calling the special education director of the school district and get some answers that way.
