And boy, he's already had a bit of excitement! He's seen his first tornado. There were 2 just outside the metro area this evening and the storms are just moving through the city now. He's safe and so are we.

Tomorrow, he'll go to work with me and we'll introduce him to the gals at the office...who knows what mischief he may get into there! We're moving desks and computers all around.

We've got a couple of ideas of places to take him...he might even get a chance to fly with one of the pilots at the base or even go for a ride out on the flight line with dh later this week.

Talk to you again soon!

PS -- Cristen, I've been down with a bug ;(

Sammy will be excited to hear this. I think I will leave out the part about the tornadoes though.
Sorry to hear you have a bug - is it you or the computer?

unfortunately, both! I think they're under control.

let's see, What did we do yesterday? Oh yeah! Poor Stanley, I think he got a bit bored yesterday...while I plugged in numbers at the computer, he had to find something to do. He wandered the halls of the office and found a cool slide on the scanner and had a fun ride -- I think the light was a bit bright at first as he went head first down the shoot. At lunch we took a quick tour of the internet before joining the ladies for some salad and rolls. One of the gals brought her 1 1/2 year old in and both Stanley and her son watched a couple of videos together before the younger one went down for an afternoon nap.

This morning, he's having some fun with some high school kids at an early morning class and breakfast. He will be re-joining me at work. Yes, we're hoping to have pictures shortly! I'll post a link once the album is set up.

We've had to rethink the plane ride --- we can't get Stanley authorized for travel in time to board the plane (security issues)....drats! But we have a plan B in mind and we're working that out today.

Is there anything special Sammy would like Stanley to do while he's here? We'll try to squeeze what we can in...

Well, I better get moving here or I'll miss my ride to work! Have a great day!

Flat Stanley's 3rd grade cousin was on a local news station yesterday morning! Sammy's Stanley was all "smiles!" He spent part of his morning with the high school kids and loved sharing doughnuts and muffins with them before they headed off to school. At the office he found a friend -- a 1 1/2 yr old that came to visit for the day. They spent a majority of their day watching some videos and playing with the toys in the kids' room.

We were both ready for a snooze by the time we got home!

This morning, Stanley's headed to the AF Base with dh. He's going to sit in on a class and help "test" some equipment and I heard that there may be a couple of surprises for him as well.

Cristen, it's called Southern Hospitality! LOL

Stanley got to help DH with his class yesterday and demonstrated how to wear some of the equipment. Yes, we got pictures. He may be coming home with a bright yellow suit and camo bdu's if we can get the alterations made this evening or tomorrow morning! I think Stanley liked hanging out with the AF yesterday. (We'll try to post some pictures over the weekend- before we mail him back)

We're waiting to see what the weather is like this evening before we make a decision on tonight's activity. He didn't pack a rain coat and I'd hate to see his clothes fade! LOL

Well, nearly time to get ready for work... so better get moving! Hope you have a great day and we missed you last night! Everything ok?

Oh my, I'm not sure I want to know. She told me her Flat Stanley is hanging up in her room? Maybe she made 2 because only she could make what I saw hanging there, LOL

Cristen, we got rained out from the ball game last night :( So We couldn't get Rowdy, the team mascot's picture with Stanley. However, we watched a couple of videos together and shared a HUGE bowl of popcorn with Stanley. I think he laughed as much as the rest of the family did. We watched Madagascar and Herbie and the original Flubber movie. We've got a couple of things to do today...I figure Stanley will be so tired by tomorrow that he'll be ready for a "restful" trip home on Monday.

I'll send you a copy of what we send back to the school...plus a few extras should be arriving within a week or so...depending on film developing and some computer prints...Flat Stanley can certainly come back for a visit anytime and drag the rest of you along with him! :)

I'll let you know when he's on his way back home....we're going to miss him!

Sounds like Stanley had fun. Now, if we came to visit, I know we'd never be able to keep up with a schedule like that, LOL.
But Ruby likes dogs now, sort of, so there is hope yet, LOL.
