How to answer her questions?

Hey, ladies,

Does anyone else have this problem?

Sherina will ask a question over & over--up to 5 times if we let her--even after she knows the answer. For example, she's asking my DH "Daddy, what are you watching?" I understand why she asks it 5 times because he never answers right away; but even after he has answered, she'll still ask the same question a few times more.

Another question from me: How do you answer questions like, "Why do we eat/dream/ breathe, in a way that a later-talking child can understand? Sherina seems to grasp simple concepts, but I'm at a loss as to how to answer her more abstract questions in a way she can understand.

Anyone with ideas please feel free to share!

Adrianne

I can't help you except to tell you that my daughter does the same thing. It's funny sometimes and quite annoying most of the time. Hopefully someone will have an answer that will help us both.

I'm in exactly the same boat with my DS.

He does it a lot. I don't know if he doesn't understand the answer, or maybe he doesn't like the original answer and wants to keep going in the hope that a more satisfactory (to him) one will be eventually emerge. Maybe he just likes the sound of the words and keeps repeating them.

I also would love to know.
