Are you busy with end of the year meetings?

Doing pretty well here. We just had our "technology" meeting last week, and made up our appointments throughout the summer. We don't want to lose the ability that Alicia gained on the computer. Plus we all believe in giving her a head start on the next year's goals. It'll be grade one next year, so getting into math and reading alone, without help. Although I think she has a good start as she was in a compbined primary/grade one class this year. Funnily enough I was the only parent who asked to be put in that class. Most asked to be in the "strictly" primary class. We just had Alicia's eyes checked, we have that done every four months or so, her eyes turn inward and flutter at times, so we need to keep an eye on it. They won't do anything if she keeps switching eyes, both of them alternating inward, but she does favour using her left eye a little more. They were just about to patch her left eye after school for a few hours, because she wasn't using her right eye at the exam. But of course when they said this out loud, ALicia started using her right eye.LOL We were in the exam room for over an hour to make sure that she actually WAS using both eyes. Tell my kid that you'll put something over her eyes and she toes the line to prove you don't need to. I always knew she was smart!LOL We aren't going to have our big meeting until the end of August because Alicia's goals are the same academically as the "garden variety" student, it's more onto to us adults to figure out the "mechanics" of allowing her to complete her assignments. Computer, placement of switches, what type of testing...etc. She just needs to do the work like the others. This year instead of practising printing she had to pick the letters out of a box and then she could stamp them on her paper, so really that kind of thing is more for us to figure out.

I'm not sure if I told you guys yet but we are going on vacation to BC this summer. It's official, the plane tickets are in our posession, the vehicle is rented, and even summer clothes bought!!! So my parents, my DH, me, and both kids are heading out for 3 weeks of family reunion, meeting new members of the family, and travelling throughout the countryside of Beautiful British Columbia. Alicia cannot wait as she will be on a plane for the very first time in her life...which is a good thing to do as she wants to be a pilot when she grows up.LOL

Sounds like Alicia is pretty smart and often "pulls" a few on you!
