I'm Emily, my daughter is Allie and she has moderately severe - severe hearing loss in both ears. She has hearing aids which she wears all day. She seems to be doing well with them. We're working on some issues with getting her seen by early intervention right now. Hopefully once we get that going regularly we will have a better idea as to how well / how much help the aids are for her. I mostly read/post on the Aug 08 discussion board, but check this one about once a week.

Hi my name is Kristine. Michael was diagnosed with a mild-moderate primarily sensorineural hearing loss in his right ear, he has 100% hearing in his left. He was born 8 wks premature so his prematurity or some meds he was given (gentomicen) in the NICU. He has been tested by an audiologist twice and we are seeing a pediatric ENT this week so we can get a final diagnosis and determine if he needs any hearing device, etc. The state of CT has a birht to three program so we will enroll him in this - they will aid us with any ongoing testing, hearing device, and support for his hearing loss. I'm confident he'll lead a full life w/o any issues. I do have a brother who is completely deaf in his left ear - birth defect - which wasn't discovered until he was 2. A hearing device would not work for him back in the day, but he has no troubles and never did.
