Hello! First time poster looking for advice. My son is 10 and has emotional, developmental, social, and learning problems. I'm trying to get him into a specialized camp that I think would be so good for him. Problem is money. It's $3,300 for 2 1/2 weeks residential. It's a 5:4 staffer:camper ratio. The department of mental health will help a bit, but I'm thinking only about $400. I'm trying to get the school system to help, but I'm not holding my breath. I applied for financial aid at the camp and they said they'd be able to help some, but they need to know what DMH will contribute. Problem is, on paper it looks like we make a decent amount of money. But with all our bills, we don't have much.
Anyone have any thoughts where I could try to get help, an agency or something. I think this really could be a turning point for him.
Thanks in advance.
