new here: can anyone help?

Hi
I'm new to this board but have posted on other boards. I have 5 children the oldest is 14 and the youngest, Moise (MO-EES) will be 6 in December. Moise has Congenital CMV, CP, Mental Retardation,autistic traits and deafness. He is currently functioning at about 15-20 months, walks with a walker and is Cochlear Implanted. He is the apple of our family's eye but he also presents a great deal of challenging situations to us.
This is somewhat of a sensitive, embarrassing issue to discuss but I'm at my wits end and hope someone here can offer some advice. Moise loves to be and es ALOT. I cannot walk out of the room without his putting his hands down his pants. He takes his pants off every chance he gets though this is often difficult as he wears AFO's (leg braces). At night he takes off his pajamas and diaper and even the knee immobilizers that he wears to bed. As Mo is not potty trained (we're working at it) this is a really big problem. Now that the weather here in Illinois is turning colder we really need to come up with a way to keep his clothes on him. I have tried sewing his pajama top and bottom together. I've tried PJ's that zip and we zip them up the back. I'v tried putting a onesie over the PJ's and pinning them together. He works his way out of all of these. During the day we bought spandex body suits to put under his clothes. This helps some but he has figured out how to go under the leg to open his diaper.
I would much appreciate any advice from anyone who's ever experienced anything similar. This problem has gotten completely out of hand.

Hmm, the PP has raised some good questions. Maybe he is doing it for the reaction? Maybe you could try not reacting to it, and focusing on something else when he does this. I don't really know. What are his intrests, maybe if you pull something out for him to do when he starts to do this it will distract him? Does he receive any type of OT or PT? Maybe they could offer some suggestions. I hope you find a solution.

We've tried everything imaginable. We really don't make a big deal about it when he's doing this but my other kids ages 14, 13, 11, and 9 are starting to get really frustrated and embarrassed by this. My s are getting quite an unexpected education about the male anatomy. We redirect him and it might work for a little bit and then he's back at it. Nights are definitley the biggest problem. I obviously can't sleep with him and we have so far not been able to come up with any clothing that he cannot get off. He's like Hudini. Every morning we find him completely with everywhere.
This isn't a real big problem at school as he has a personal aide and therefore has one on one attention all morning long. I've asked them but they have no solutions either.
It seems that the solution is to find some type of clothing that he cannot possibly get off. I've yet to find it though.

Best of luck and let me know if it does or doesn't work and maybe I can think of something else. I sew a lot of clothes for my kids so I can get creative with things like that. You can get a rivit/snap punch at walmart for about $8.
