Hey, everyone,

Just realized that I need to update everyone!

Last week, DH & I met with Sherina's teacher, the DD teacher, and the regular Kindy teacher to devise a plan to meet her needs. We decided that Sherina would go to the developmentally delayed (DD) class in the mornings and spend the afternoon with the regular Kindergarten class. Well, yesterday began her first full week in this routine, and so far, so good! Sherina loves being in the DD class because it's like a jr. Kindy; Ms. B. works on a Kindergarten curriculum at a preschool level and is able to focus on each student's needs; there are only 7 students in her class! Sherina is back to loving school and, except for an upper respiratory cold that's going around, she's healthy and happy!

Thanks to everyone who posted; we're going to have a great year now!

Adrianne,

I am really happy things are working out in school at last, and that Sherina is happy. Kudos to you for sticking with it and working it out. It's not easy, I know.

I just put my 5yo on the bus for his first day of Kindergarten, and I have been sitting by the phone all day in case he has a meltdown and they have to call me! It's silly I know: This is his 3rd year in school, and he did fine the first two, but its hard to stop worrying...
