I went on a mini-vacation to NYC earlier this summer. This board seems awfully quiet, so I am wondering what marvelous travels have taken you all away from here.

Have joy!

Hi Dawn,

let's see...our summer travels....we traveled to soccer camp, art camp, lifeguard camp. Just as glamorous & exciting as NYC...LOL. Sometimes it seems we're busier in the summer than during the school year. Actually, we live at the beach so our area is a vacation destination and it gets quite busy and active around here.

This board does move slow but thankfully when someone has a question or concern, we're right on it.

Thanks for initiating a move!!

That is a lot of camp! Back in my day, I went to one camp, once in the summer. Kids are awfully busy these days!

I have to admit, I was off acting like a teenager in NYC -- seeing Duran Duran and jumping up and down like I was 15 again. My knees, however, reminded me that I am 35 shortly after the show!

Now....everything else aside....you saw Duran Duran at one of their few US dates this summer?? I am so jealous. I have to be one of their biggest fans! I saw them twice last summer in Atlantic City. It is funny how they bring you back to your teenage years....except that my husband tags along to ensure I don't charge the stage...LOL.

Now...back to reality. Yes, there are many camps. Believe it or not, my kids are on a very light camp schedule. I know some parents who have their kids in a camp every week. I actually enjoy being with my kids and not being on a schedule all of the time. It's much different than when we were kids.

Have a great day.

I did, I did! I went to the special Fan Community show at the Hammerstein Ballroom in NYC. The best part of re-living your teenage years in your 30s is that you can do stuff like go off to NYC for a concert! If I'd had a passport, I would have attempted to go see them in Cork as well, but, alas, these shows pop up so quickly...

I think that you and Maria have cornered the market on camps! More power to you both -- you are going to need it!

Have joy!
