OT....a Traditional Feast?

Next week, we celebrate Thanksgiving in the states (Canadians have already celebrated theirs).

We're staying home (at least most of us are...the younger two will be spending it with their bio mom).

We had Canadian Thanksgiving here at home with all of my dh's traditional favorites.


For U.S. Thanksgiving, we will go to my mom's this year. It is a weekend affair for our family. Everyone tries to get there for at least this one time of year. This year my mom and her df may be getting married while we're there. Apparently, it's a surprise as to whether it will really happen or not. (This will be number 5 for Mom.) We have all the usual favorites.


I wish I could get in the mood to WANT to go. I am really in a funk right now. Dh was talking about when to put up Christmas lights last night. I told him that I didn't care when or if we put them up. Since he is always the one making me wait to put them up, and I'm always the one putting them up as early as I can get away with.... ARGH!


Can you all send me some positive vibes and prayers. I really need them.

We always stay home for the holidays(and I am glad)because we don't have any family close enough to visit. Not that it wouldn't be nice to spend Thanksgiving with them, but I'd rather not have to travel this time of year. I'll make turkey(thawing in the fridge since yesterday), mashed taters, stuffing, gravy, couple vegetables, rolls, cranberry-orange relish, pecan pie(dh's favorite) and dd will make a pumpkin pie. I think that's it! We all love spaghetti squash and wanted that for a veggie but do you think I can find one in our little 2 grocery store town? Oh well! I'm looking forward to the feast(but not the cleaning up). Pam
